If a member of a tribe is found to be cheating (e.g. secretly taking more food then he is allowed) then the cheater detection mechanism comes into action with ruthless effect. The miscreant member will probably be brutally killed or ostracised (which will lead to death).

In 2008 there was the financial crisis and the banks were bailed out. Many people's cheater detection mechanism went into overdrive and some are still there.
