In most animals it is the male who displays and the female is drab (think peacocks).

In humans it *seems* to be the other way around. Its a mystery, some have proposed solutions, you may have some ideas.

Whether thick skulls can be reprogrammed by abstract ideas is another question, and implies a blank slate view of human nature.

But what if there is some pre-programming in that thick skull? then the effort may be futile.

In this case we just have to do the best we can with the crooked timber of human nature.
