Interesting. I have aphantasia, i.e. no mental imagery. Yet I studied mathematics and so I must have some idea of what a triangle is although I can't visualise one in my mind, maybe its an advantage?

Its well known that dogs can recognise other dogs as dogs, despite the stupendous variety of body forms that humans have inflicted upon the dog population.

How can this be? How can a dog recognise another dog with a body form they have not seen before as a dog?

They must have some sort of abstract 'dogness' concept in their minds.

Although humans are extraordinary, a fundamental, dislocation in kind between us and animals is unlikely.
