Its clearly useless to send humans into space.

I'm not sure about the centrifugal/centripetal force thing.

I thought the centripetal force was the force applied to the object that altered its path from default straight line to circular. i.e. the force of the floor upon the humans feet, whereas the centrifugal force was the imaginary outward force that the object imparts on whatever is keeping its path circular, this would be the human feeling its weight pressing on the floor. So they are opposites but really only the centripetal force exists.

Maybe the human will feel sick if the drum is too small due to different gravities for head and feet but if it is large enough I think it would be OK.
