Not sure that there is a huge difference between e.g. Qanon support levels between educated and uneducated people

In addition I believe it is the case that it is more difficult to extract an intelligent person from a cult than an unintelligent one. The more intelligent person's more powerful brain being capable of constructing more rationalisations for their beliefs then the less intelligent.

Skepticism, the desire to separate from the crowd and read arguments from different sides of an issue and look for evidence in order to arrive at a considered, subject to change, opinion is a different thing from 'intelligence'.

Few people do that, in fact maybe its not rational! Such independent people are the first up against the wall once the balloon goes up!
