Seems strange that an alien civilisation of this magnitude would bother to crush a bug. Do you spend your time going round crushing bugs? We are completely and utterly uninteresting. We have no resources that a civilisation of this power would have any interest in. Maybe it is comforting to think of these aliens as having malice towards us rather than total indifference?
