Brexit is probably not good, I campaigned remain but now its over, the people have spoken and we must accept, that's democracy. In any case the future is much more unknowable than you pretend.

The Tories have stolen ideas from Ed Miliband (who was excoriated for being a socialist at the time) e.g. raising corporation tax from 19% to 25% of profits. and also from the right, Brexit itself, in order to keep their grip on power. These moves are within democratic rules, i.e. they are a normal political party.

This is in strong contrast to the right wing party in the US, which has abandoned democracy entirely, so are we really in the same shit?

Some argue that about 30% of the population are just fascists and it is the role of a centre right party to absorb this tendency and neutralise it. So the price of neutralising UKIP was Brexit, a high price but maybe worth it?

The Tories have had many opportunities to close down the NHS but have not done so, there are no votes in it.

On gentle Europe I would suggest that e.g. Marine LePen's National Front has views more similar to small Fascist parties in the UK such as the BNP. She is having another shot at being president soon.

On immigration, we will be having fewer immigrants from Europe and more from the rest of the world, maybe that's better?

Europe is a free trade zone and those outside it face barriers, so we have shot ourselves in the foot r.e. trade. But does that have a moral dimension as you are claiming?
