There is no point in sending humans into space. Our bodies are too weak and require too much expensive apparatus to keep alive in this environment.

The moon and asteroids will be mined by robots which we shall build.

In time we will be able to build sentient self reproducing space robots who will go out and explore the galaxy and will tell us of their adventures.

You will be able to lie in your hammock in lush woodland here on earth and directly experience the 1000 year adventure of a space robot as if you are living it.

But to get there we have to learn how to survive on this planet first. That is the problem.

Yes we need nuclear power as well as everything else we can think of to generate energy without changing the climate.
