But maybe really they are looking to launch the next Ponzi scheme and bail out before it bursts with a nice wedge of cash.

So they are not looking for great ideas but master bullshit artists to front the Ponzi.

As I understand it the VCs all got out with big payoffs and the later investors (your pension scheme) lost out.
